It has been a strange summer, trying to keep up with planned projects, some of which had to be abandoned by the very bright and very hot weather. On some days, definitely a case of photographer wilt, let alone the plants! So,with a small lull, it was great to get back to my familiar 'home ground' of Knoll Gardens this week where the planting is coming into its most spectacular time with the grasses beginning to flower and the perennials looking like beautiful jewels in amongst them.
I love this Persicaria 'Fat Domino'! Great chunky flowers which I recall looking good well into the autumn last year and a real colour accent in the garden.
Knoll Gardens is where it all started for me- from a stalwart monochrome hobbyist photographer to a career in garden photography inspired by this one garden. Says something!
